I still can not shake off my customary walk in downtown St. Petersburg. But in reality, it is not done so, except in the United States downtowns work. Even in the Chicago City Centre, empty controversy. Most of the streets of shops and cafes have been closed. In this regard, American cities are very different from Europe’s. But New York is special! People walk downtown on the weekend, businessmen on both sides of the street, crowded subway stations and garbage bags on the sidewalk.

New York is a legendary city. Almost everything was a legendary, and the most famous, or at least the largest is the largest. Statue of the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan, Broadway, museums and all the other things I have heard and read, or appear in the film, we finally see them in reality.

One of the things I always enjoy in the United States and this seems to be particularly strong in the NYC mixed culture.

For example, we are willing to visit the world’s largest professional photography & video store on Ninth Avenue H, let us go there Saturday, and surprised to be informed that the shops closed day off.

We came to the next day, in stores, and understand why there is a day off last Saturday. Wow! A Jewish video store photos! This is terrible!

I have never seen such a densely populated city before. In rush-hour traffic, the police even had to stop pedestrian traffic, to vehicular traffic.

It seems to me that almost all the people in New York crowd and tourists. I do not know if there are any new people New York. We have heard Italian, French and other European languages, almost everywhere. Our guess is that the depreciation of the dollar tourist travel to the United States have become more affordable.

Christmas Day in New York were all at home, to reunite with their families, but the city is still overcrowding. And taking into account all the shops, restaurants and other public places, except, of course, McDonald’s and Starbucks was closed! I can only imagine a pile of money, McDonald’s and Starbucks earned by Christmas Day. On this day, after walking the Brooklyn Bridge, we are trying to find an open public toilets in Brooklyn. We spent almost an hour looking for, it did not succeed.

Finally, passing through the Brooklyn fire, we call firefighters, if there is a public toilet near…… we were allowed to enter the fire (of course the toilet :-))!

People everywhere: in the streets, in restaurants and shops, museums, etc.. However, we are very fortunate (is the most intelligent, well see :-)), and not waiting in the same more than 30 minutes. If you want to avoid waiting in the same one in New York, first of all, you need at places of interest in the early days, at the opening ceremony is the time (or even a few minutes, whichever is the earlier). Literally, 1:00, we walked into this museum or elsewhere, a huge line construction.

Another one advice - buy tickets to attractions on-line booking. It will save your time and your nerve. You can buy an entry five- NYC Attractions. Individual tickets cost more than twice. We do not buy it this time, but I think this is a good idea, doing so on our next visit.
