• Hit Counters

I have not added any traffic counter to it yet. If you look at my blog here, you can see that I have my own traffic counter at the bottom of the page. The traffic counter or hit counter is a webmaster tool which allow webmaster to monitor traffic coming to their site. Having a hit counter at your website enable you to keep track of visitors coming to your website or blog. You can see which is your popular post and the traffic trend for your website for a period of time.

Hit Counters always have fascinated me, and thus I was delighted to accept a review for website that offers free Hit Counters. Their site says that they are highly accurate and 100% free, and they show some examples of the different styles at the bottom. I’m getting all giddy by the thought of signing up and trying out this service, and I am almost getting annoyed with having to write all this, cause it’s stalling me!

A cool feature with signing up is that you can choose what the counter value needs to be, in case you wish to cheat, or in my case, if you already have a counter and want to switch without loosing your number, without having to refresh the page a gazillion times. I filled out 34862 as thats what my current counter says. You get to pick a design straightaway, and it has a lot to choose from, from very subtle counter styles to cutesy kittycat counters, with a kitten next to each digit. I pick the oldschool black with green letters one, for sentimental value. I click okay and it says “Signup Process Complete”. And Thunderbird promptly tells me theres new mail, while the website gives me some instructions and the code i need to copy. The email gives me a password to the effect of hFhFuehF in case I ever wish to log in. I would, because I like to see statistics of my traffic, even if I wouldn’t be writing this review, but I think a lot of users would just stick with copying the code and having some numbers showing on their website, and I really think it is great that these guys keep both kinds of users in mind using this way of offering their product.
